[Cold Play
Violet Hill-
“I took my love down to Violet Hill
There we sat in the snow
All that time she was silent still
If you love me won’t you let me know…”]
There she sat
All my heart had longed for
I never looked back
It was like nothing from before
A rose for my rose
Made my violet turn violet
But silent heaven only knows
The plight of a pilot
I do all I can to make my love smile
But her lips never part
And it seemed all the while
I only hear what’s coming from my heart
Silent tears roll down her eyes
I ran to catch every drop
Yet somehow her silence still denies
That I should ever stop
I close my eyes to hear the quiet
The sound of a butterfly’s wings
I still want to deny that
I painfully enjoy these things
I can’t hear her laugh
So I took my pride in her grin
I enjoy the beaten path
But my path is growing thin
Silent tears roll down my eyes
But I don’t think she can tell (shhh)
Does this actually imply
That I’m really going through hell (no…)
I’m in heaven with her but it’s my secret
I can’t say it to anyone
There’s a song here but I can only see it
Oh what I would give to hear it sung… (shhh)
A bell rings and a bird chirps
These are things I remember from long ago
I remember how much your silence hurts
So if you love me won’t you let me know…?
(shhh)
IF YOU LOVE ME WON’T YOU LET ME KNOW?
